A&D Business Strategies offers two leather technology courses, which can be conducted in your office. Courses are available to individuals and groups, including interior designers and architects, to-the trade showrooms, purchasing agents, dealerships and educational institutions.

Leather Basics: Technology, Application and Aesthetics 
One hour, 0.1 CEU credit for ASID, IIDA, IDEC and IDC members.
Description: This one-hour course is designed to introduce designers and architects with little or no previous knowledge to the basics of leather technology, with a focus on terminology, application and aesthetics. The presentation includes a discussion of how leather is made; tanning techniques including the innovation of green technology; the uses and aesthetics of various dyeing techniques; how to write a leather specification; the interpretation of the final product, particularly in light of its application.

The Practical Aspects of Leather Technology
Two hours (certification pending).
Description: This class encompasses all the material in Leather Basics in the first hour. The second hour addresses more practical and advanced issues including how to determine how much leather to order and cost-cutting techniques; performance testing; federal requirements with an emphasis on flame retardancy; “green” certification and environmental issues; new developments in leather-making.
